On every page

Four layers, and you decide how many are showing

The Arabic is always first and always largest. Everything else sits beneath it, closed until you open it, so the page never stops being a page of the Qur’an.

  1. The Arabic Arabic

Hafs ‘an ‘Asim, in the Uthmani script of the Mushaf, from Tanzil Project.

  2. An English translation

Every ayah, with the translator’s own notes where they wrote one. Noor International Center, published by the Encyclopedia of the Noble Quran (QuranEnc.com).

  3. The unfamiliar words Arabic

6,109 words explained where they stand, across 3,648 ayat, from a published gharib al-Qur’an.

  4. Tafsir Arabic

At-Tafsir al-Muyassar, under each ayah, at the granularity its authors wrote it.

Al-Baqarah 2:186

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ ۖ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ

And when My servants ask you, [O Muḥammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

Al-Baqarah 2:186
